Welcome to Wilmington Friends

Wilmington Friends School is a community.

Wilmington Friends is a private school in Wilmington, Delaware, with high standards for academic achievement and an environment where children thrive with confidence to be their very best. We emphasize critical and creative thinking, informed by the values of our Quaker roots: integrity, community, equality, simplicity, stewardship, and peace. Serving preschool, elementary, middle and high school students.

We offer an unsurpassed private school academic program, and just as important, Friends is a great place to grow up. What often brings families to Quaker education (95% of the families who choose Friends are not Quaker) is the appeal of an academic program with depth—one that asks students to question, to collaborate, to be creative, to take risks—within a caring community that balances focus on the individual with responsibility to the common good.

Our 25-acre middle/upper school campus is located in the center of the Alapocas neighborhood. Our lower school campus is just a short walk away, nestled in Alapocas Woods on 30 acres.
"We chose Wilmington Friends for our children to provide them with a more personalized education, smaller class sizes, and access to an academic curriculum that facilitates and encourages debate and dialogue, not just rote memorization. WFS’ focus on independence, cooperation and respect for one another, along with sports and extracurricular opportunities, will help them excel academically and personally, preparing them for future success."
