8th Grade Students Visit East Side Charter Apex Program for Workshop

8th Grade U.S. history students traveled to the East Side Charter Apex Program for a workshop on public speaking and human rights law.
After an orientation by lawyers who work with the Delaware Legal Resource Education Center, WFS and Apex students worked together to construct arguments for two sides in a human rights case and then delivered their arguments to the group. This visit is part of an ongoing exchange program between the Friends and Apex social studies departments that partners students from both schools to learn about and discuss ongoing topics in civics and world affairs.
