Middle School International Day of Peace 2024

Middle school students celebrated the International Day of Peace on Friday.
They spent the day thinking about the cornerstones of peace, exploring various ways to get involved with these foundations of peace at the local and state levels, and acknowledging and celebrating diversity, which leads to more accepting, inclusive, and welcoming communities. Students also created a digital resource of local organizations and events that can be used by students and faculty moving forward, representing their interests and passions.

The keynote speaker was Kathy Stevens ’85, the Executive Director of Montgomery Coalition for Adults English Literacy. She talked to students about her current work helping adults learn a new language, the different settings in which we can all learn from one another, and why sharing our learning with one another can be so powerful. #WFSmiddleschool #WFSspices
