Welcome ShaQuan Buffaloe, Director of Finance and Operations
Please join us in welcoming ShaQuan Buffaloe to the WFS community as our Director of Finance and Operations.
For more than 20 years, ShaQuan has worked in the non-profit sector, most recently for YMCA Delaware, where she served as the Executive Vice President of Finance for the state-wide system. In this role, ShaQuan established financial and administrative objectives, policies, programs, and practices to ensure a reliable financial system. She’s implemented strategies for financial stability, managed financial risks, and worked with construction vendors.
ShaQuan earned her Master of Business Administration (Non-Profit Management) from Springfield College and her Bachelor of Arts (Business Administration and Accounting) from Eastern University.
We would also like to thank the acting Director of Finance and Operations, Lesley Tryon '71, for her invaluable insight, wisdom, leadership, grace, and care.

Honoring IB Diploma Candidates

Each student delivered a 3–5 minute presentation reflecting on their growth through the program’s core components: Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay. Quakerism Class Participates in Forest Immersion
Megan Hegenbarth’s Quakerism class took a mindful journey into Alapocas Woods with middle school Spanish teacher Laura Pardo ’90, who studied forest immersion on her sabbatical earlier this year. Guided sensory exercises—listening to rustling leaves, feeling tree bark, noticing the movement of water—helped students support their well‑being by connecting with the present moment, their natural surroundings, and themselves.Read More -
